Master System 1 I have the mk2. Another other weird thing I found is a converter that lets you play Master System games on the Game Gear, also found a Game Gear TV tuner, no doubt useless soon with digital takeover!

You'll probably find most retro games wont increase in price, its normally the limited run and generally shitty obscure games that are the real valuable ones, most the popular games etc are common as muck so dont really expect much rise in price especially as cartridge consoles are invincible due to no moving parts.

EDIT: Very overhyped but less common games like Chrono Trigger always sell for a bit more than usual just because they are normally top 10 games etc.

Do people really sell them for $1200 or just put them on the Internets with a crazy price tag in the hope they can convince others of the value?

Not necessarily a guy recently had a rare copy of Tetris iirc for the Megadrive and he was getting offers for over $50k+ just like any collectors they will spend over the odds on stuff, the internet has changed how things work though when most people started getting the net about 3-4 years ago FF7 in a tatty old rotten box would sell for over £50 whereas in a shop i bought 3 copies second hand for £2.50 and re-sold them for £15 even though FF7 is probably one of the most easy to get titles avaliable for the PS1.
Almost like on here when people rant on about how great M3's, Pumas and 106's are worth every penny even if they do cost more than average because they have this legendary status arent even some sort of rare desirable in all honesty doesnt help that most gamers are geeks in the first place.
N16K google the value of them some are worth mega money!
