I think it would be a good idea for me to get a 1.7td isuzu engine into my corsa basically because i am doing i lot of miles now and this will save me a lot of money on fuel money.
If i get an full astra or cav with this in it can i use basically all those parts?? ie will i need new engine mounts? can i use the fuel pump etc of the donor??
The reason i want to put it in mine is coz i really like my car and it is worth more to me to keep it rather than just get about 1k for it and get a worse car. Also this will get me a bit more poke

slighty of subject but i test drove a golf GTTDI a few months back and left the garage with a huge smile on my face, really never felt nothing like it soo much power low down its incredible.
so i started to doing a small amount of reading about diesels (mainly vauxhall) and was really impressed at how easy and cheaply it was to modify and improve the performance of these engine (especially the turbo'ed engines)
diesel i feel is the way forward

one you will need to change the fuel tank cos the diesel ones dont have a fuel pump in em and the petrol ones do.
the mounting points will be totally different as the diesels dont use vauxhall engines they are isuzu lumps. the wiring will be totally different as the diesels dont run off an ecu, they are mechanically controlled.
