i've just changed my standard headunit to a alpine headunit but for some reason the display indicating the time and temperature is not working unless i turn the main beams on. And switch on when i turn the ignition off??
Please help its draining my battery

time and date is cos u are not using a standard vauxhall head unit
only sonys u can use the top display
the best u can do it fuse it off and have the date there
if its not working all together then u have prob hit somthing and knocked the plug off or one of the backing lights may have gone.

But the display does work perfectly but switches on when the ignition is off

no there like a slider on the right hand side need your headlight knob

yes it will
as it turns the brightness off the LED's up and down
go and try it and then i will have a re think
as sounds to me thats it

i tried it already and it made no difference...though i turned it to its lowest. but the brightness is still the same

mate i had the same problem. what it is that one of the pins behind the mfd is loose. So what you have to do is take it out and then solder the pins that are loose. Im sure this is the problem as i had the problem last week. Takes 40 secs to fix. Ask if u need help as i know how annoying it can be

If you have leds fitted, the dimmer unit will still work just the same as with regular bulbs.
