i'm fitting 18" on my corsa B and i am wanting to get a better gearbox for acceleration. Which one would be best. The car is a 1.4 8v SPI with a F13 gearbox at the mo.

wouldnt bother mate , 18s on a 1.4 SPI is gonna be slow, wouldnt be worth a new box.

agreed ^^^^

either go for looks (ie 18" and bodystyle) or performance (ie stick to 15/16's)

i have a 1.4 sri MPI and its not worth moddin it with performance (just an zhorst and induction well do)

whack on some nice 17's matey

i couldnt give exact figures but my cousins 14 16v corsa was runnin 18s and my 1.2 pissed it-no joke. now he runnin team dynamics monza 15s. you know he wallops me everywhere

i was gonna get a set of 18" for looks and get a set of 15/16 to just piss about in. but i still want a better gear box for accelaration.

so your 1.2 keeps with gsi's but gets "walloped" by a 1.4

your mad mate, if you got 18s you wouldn't move mate, you probably would go faster going backwards

get a valver conversion then put 18's on!! thats the best set-up

conversion 1500 notes from lee mitchell or beardy then whateva for ya 18's - jobs a good 'un!!
