alright ppl
remmber geting told that if you put a diesel gearbox in a escort rs turbo it gives more torque n bottom end power or somthing along those lines.
anyways what would i get from puttin a 1.5 D box in a 1.4 8v and is it worth doing? any one else tryed done it???
thx JIM

hrmmm would it bolt to the engine?
diesel power does give more bottom end torque but i think its the engine that supplies this not the gearbox.
But i may be wrong on that

should bolt up fine i think and its also the gearing that amplifies the engines torque

youd be best fitting a f15 box
as they have closer ratio's
but it is a 1.4 8v so dont expect a massive difference

not really coz the diesel engine put out the torque the box just copes with it.
thats why rst's put them on coz they up the boost and need a stronger box to cope

ratios are also different in the diesel box!
if it mates up ok, and the engine is powerful enough to reach around 6k RPM, expect a few more MPH out of the car

Only what they dont realise is that the diesel box isnt any stronger than the rst box it uses the same bearings in the same casings! All it achieves is to loose the std lsd!

may have changed at some point, not that it makes any difference, they have the same rations anyway i think. just stronger casing on the f13.
