Author getting rear dampers off

im trying to change my rear damper over but i can't get the originals off

the bolt at the top ( in the boot) keeps spinning the whole damper round.

i've tried to hold the centre bit from spinning whilst turning the nut but can't do it.

is there n e trick to doing this.....

otherwise im just gonna dump my springs on without dampers for now (-60 mm)

use an open ended spanner to hold it while u turn the nut

its hard but can be done failing that take it to a garage and ask them to undo them with an air gun themn nip them up drive home and take them off

yeah it gonna have to be the airgun for these bastards on my car.

went to halfords and got the correct size tools and the fecker wouldn't budge.

i'm going to go out to me car and have a look at this now c what the fuss is

back! just put yer spanner on the nut then get a visegrips and put it on the top of the damper (not the threaded part)

yer not trying hard enough

i've chewed the top of the damper bit bit my little 6 or 7 mm spanner ( can't rem which i was using)

i was there for a good hour twisting and turning.

i had the fronts off and back on within an hour and a bit....

Beat my fuckers - one side . .well both sides were fucked inside the bit where bolt goes through (all siezed up) then person b4 had bodged them on, snapped botl so half was stuck in bolt which was welded on then the other half was just welded in Fekin rough bastards!!!!!!

All sorted now tho cut old shockers off and after nights of work got new ones on

im gutted though cause it should b an easy job, i've had my mates at it and meself for ages... haha neva mind we must b abunch of weeds
