the engine oil from my corsa 1.4 is always leaking. my friend told me that i need to replace a new head gasket.

does anyone one know how much to replace a new one?

You can do it yourself with the help of a haynes manual and at least a whole day free. About £20 for the gasket, and less than £20 for the new head bolts. However, if you pay a garage, it will be at least £200 due to the labour.

I Did it in about 4 hours, 1st time.£1.07 per bolt from vaux and £5.20 for teh gasket from Part Co.

He means the rocker cover gasket no doubt.

u cud do the rocker cover gasket urself quite easily, but if its head gasket then it is quite a bit of work

u cud do head gasket urself but if ur not very brave with a spanner and have never done anything like it before, then mite be worth taking it to a garage, about 200 quid if it doesnt need skimming

If its 8v, its easy. Basically all you need is a good socket set and torque wrench.
