now ive painted my engine cover its time to do the inlet manifold casue thats also covered with coolant

anyone done this? imagine would need heat resistant paint as it gets quite hot??

pics, colours and advice appreciated - engine cover is met smoke grey

paint it black to contrast with the silver

or paint it a nice deep shade of blue

halfords do engine paint! not sure on price tho.

was thinkin something like hameright spray paint, but of a c#nt to do though as wud have to take it off to paint and leave it off to dry - and not drive car

why not get a tin of hammerite smoothrite black only a few quid a tin and dries in bout 4 hours
cud always do calipers aswell while ya at it

also ya cud go to a scrap yard and get a inlet bit...paint that and then swap it over with the one on ya car then ur car aint off the rd while it dries

good idea on gettin one from scrappy, im hopin to get a lex or mantzel this summer so all this painting might be for nufin

hamerite stinks when it gets hot,

i tried gettin all the coolant off with a drill polisher thingy but wasnt really workin cause its pretty well stuck on, any other ways of gettin it off?

this one does look very good, do u have to take the raised dimple effect off first? dont really know how wud go about it

the lad told me that he sanded it down with a multitool and then polished it up, took quite bit of time apparently

Never had any problems with anything smelling at all.

I used Halford high temperature resisting paint. Didn't even rub it down. And i brush painted it on with a fine brush. Looked superb.

i have metal inlet and thats the plastic jobby, cheers anyway though
