you need a video digitiser, they're bot cheap afaik but Ive got a "trust" one. It will let you plug AV in one end, and other end comes out as USB, I dont use it anymore, so If you could find out the value of these things, ill sell you it for 2nd hand rate

I used Windows Movie Maker to edit videos, this is available free from the windows site and you can then save or edit footage from there.
As for the AV leads, there is normally 3, one for video, one for left audio and one for right audio, if there is only two its because its mono sound and doesnt matter. It should still work aslong as its got a video lead.

Ok this is a similar product, just by a different company, it says price ranges from 40 to 60 quid, so If you want I can do it you for 25, ill post it for 29 or we could arrange pickup becuase we're not that far from each other.

Ive found it in the original box, it doesnt have driver disk, but upon pluggin it into windows XP, windows automatically installed its own drivers for it (theres 3 drivers to install, so let windows do its thing) or alternativly they are available on the Trust website.

wow, thats a lot of footage. It depends alot on the desired recording quality, but either way no matter what you use, your gonna need a lot of disk space. There might be specialst software for CCTV recording out there, its maybe worth having a look.
