the original engine was about 45k, but its been striped down and rebulit with new cams etc before lee put it in the corsa, since the conversion its done about 1000 miles

was the bottom end stripped down. as in new shells, pistons, rings etc... if so then the oil and filter should have been changed after 30 miles, then again after 300, then again after 700 then a good quality oil after 1000 miles... rings need a certain driving tech to bed in properly.

Cheers for the link to the mig thread, amazingly helpful, and craig the engines just had its 1000 mile refresher after the new bottom end was put in. thanks for your help guys
