what do people think about wilwood midilite brakes?
specs are:
Size (mm) :- 285
Caliper Type: Midilite 4 pot(new)
Lug/Radial: R
Disc Size (Diam x Width): 285 x 21
Possible Wheelsize (Inches): 15
been offered a brand new set of these for a reasonable pirce, what do people think?

No good for road use, unless you want to steam clean them every day...

Yea, they will be made for race use, not road use and will require a lot of maintainence....

Hispec ones will be the same sort of thing as the Willwoods. The problem is they will need constant cleaning and attention to keep them in good condition due to salt on the roads.
Reylands are AP Racing and I'm not sure how good they are for road use...

Yea, they are made for road use - cast steel calipers with sutable dust seals. SHould be pretty simple to keep maintained.

the reyland's are fine but they need to be warm for best results.... ask yourself.. do you actually need to spend £700 on brakes? also if you a fan of nice shinny alloys then kiss them goodby cos these things give off some craszy amount of dust....

lol well want decent stoping power as wanna do some track days eventually and i will be havin white wheels so will wash them every day anyway lol
looking at the god speed set up only 400 quid so not too bad

You can get a Hi Spec kit that utilises an ATE (2.0) brake set up. It spaces the calipers out a bit more so you can use bigger disks. I think it's what Iaz has on the Jag Corsa... Thats the next cheaper option because with a 2.0 enigne the 2.0 brakes are actually a bit shit... Or are you having a 1.6 now?

haha at hi-spec needing cleaning, you ever sen joffs car? he cleans it never..... and when he does im sre he wont clean the brakes, he has hi-spec brakes on that......they work fine

iv ben speaking to god-speed, his recommended kit for a set of 15" wheels is ap calipers, 195discs, ds2500 pads, all for £950....
