Been thinking all I've ever had done is a standard service on my car so oil filter, air filter, oil change, spark plugs etc.
Bought it with 36k on the clock. Now has 76k on the clock.
Had it serviced every 10k.
Should I be thinking about getting something more major done? Does the timing chain need changing at a particular mileage? I dont have a clue about my engine and what needs changing at what mileage...

Any idea how big a job the timing chain is?
Will changing the petrol filter be a worthwhile thing to have done while its in next time as I presume its not been done as never asked for it or seen it listed on my service receipts?

A timing chain isn't just a service. Also would help if I was mechanically minded which I'm not

Yes been told not to bother with it unless it starts rattling which it isn't. I know what to listen for cos my mates Corsas timing chain went so know what it sounds like.
So nothing my car will need doing apart from servicing?

Timing chains are non-serivce items?
i.e. you replace them when they make noises and appear to be worn out.

Yeah just do a full service, obvisously just give it a good check round and replace what needs changing. Theres not much to do service wise on modern cars anyway.

Yea, the main thing you need to do is replace the bloody German electronics on them that fails all the time

Well I must be at least halfway through replacing the various sensors by now so hopefully not much more can go wrong in that respect
Sensors are the only problems I have had with the car infact
