ive got a scorpion cat-back exhaust system and thinking of having the centre silencer taken out, and a straight through put in from the cat to the back box....

but will taking out the centre silencer reduce any back pressure and effect the rev/power??

Nope. I have a de-cat and a straight thru, and it will make it go abit better if anything.

hmm i see, i thought i would loose back pressure hence loosing some mid range power!

i want to keep the Cat and current back box, but just have a straight pipe connecting the two....

how will the sound be effected?? its deep and rumbly but a quite exhaust compared to most!!

No it wont. It all depends on what back box u have, One of my X16 sports has the cat in, straight thru centre section goin into a 4" peco jap style backbox, it DOESNT rasp, just a nice deep base note to it.

U dont loose back pressure, as u still have a backbox actin as a silencer.

It will sound the way it does now, just quite abit louder, it MAY rasp, but as i say it all depends on ur back box.

My other X16 sport has 4-1 manifold, de cat and 2 1/4 straight thru full system, and that is stupidly loud, but i love it!!

Do it!

its a pointless modification unless you want a loud chav style exhaust. unless you buy a system that is designed to have just a backbox then dont bother.

wont gain any power, just angry neighbours

i dont want it to be loud raspy and nasty!

i like it how it is now, but since ive slammed my car to the floor the centre silencer scrapes over bumps as it hangs down quite low! plus it is fooked anyway as it is always rattling!!

so basically i thought would it be ok to get rid of it without loosing/effecting performance or the sound!???????????

im sure a place like powerflow could make somthing for my needs? what you reckon??

its a group A 2.5inch bore exhaust! so its big, the middle silencer itself is huge compared to the standard one!

and i have fitted it properly, infact its hung up as high as it can be

anway i said it was damaged, so rather then replace it if i could get rid of it without effecting performance or sound it would be better and cheaper
