My sisters car has just failed its MOT for not having its ABS on. I disaibled it as it was making a lot of clicking noise and not braking when trying to brake.

It just pisses me off that it can fail on an optional extra I know its a saftey one but not all corsa had ABS.

I had the Cav done yesterday, same problem. I pulled the fuse out.

He said as long as the light comes on, and then goes off thats a pass. So i put the fuse in, and pulled it once it was started.

just take the clocks out and splice the airbag light on to the ABS one, they both go out after a second, or the alt light, just a bit of sire under each bulb on the +ve side works a treat, dodge s/h car dealer tricks.

Yeah looks like Im going to be wiring the bulb onto the oil light or somhing similar.

From what Ive read as long as the light comes on and goes off and the car stop then thats it.

There are no other tests for ABS?

the only abs test is for the light
if the light comes on then goes of then it passes, even if the abs doesnt work

the tapley brake test is a brake test with an accelerometer to test the affetive ness of the brakes with out using the brake rollers

Took it to local mechanic he said there is a fault with the wiring but its not storing any fault codes.

as far as getting it through the mot the light needs to come on for 4 seconds once the ignition is tuned on then off.

So no chance of hooking it up to another light.

Just thought I would give you an update.

Faced with two options one change the loom big bill. The other change all the pipes from a non abs corsa to much hassle and I couldnt be bothered.

Then one day sitting in the car I notice the air bag light comes on on the click of the ignition and off again after 4-5 seconds so a bit of wire and tape my abs light does exactly the same MOT passed
