for a couple of years now, my messenger is really weird, regardless of version, uninstalling, reinstalling, O/S. what would happen is when i go to put my password in, it would accept it, but would shorten to 6 *'s regardless of what my password length isw. then when i select auto-logon, it never accepts the password and shows only the 6*'s. now recently whenever i log in, i am shown as offline until i change it myself to online. any ideas?

have you totally wiped your PC and tried again after a full reinstall?

Steve, its always the same no matter whats happening. does this on any computer, any O/S. i think its to do with the account. how can i contact MSN?

uncheck the remember password and remember me and sign me in automatically, boxes, input your password and then check them again,,might solve the problem

if your running xp and using save password it always shows 6 stars regardless of the password length
