Hey ive got 1.6 sport....which has following problem,
On starting the car there is a quite loud tapping/clicking noise which gets a little quieter after about 4 seconds (louder when cold) and then when warmed up it still makes an audiable tapping noise, ive searched but cant find anything that relates to mine,

No point in fixing because it's £120 for 16 lifters and it's a pain in the arse job to do if they are only being noisy gits. The only time to replace them really is when they are worn and gold in colour rather than shiney silver.

also i was thinking.....how much would an average garage or tuning company charge to rebuild an engine? roughly?

You can get replacement engines from Vauxhall for that much too.
