Me again.
Anyway, i was sitting in traffic today. Pulled off slowly in 1st no problem, changed into 2nd. Wasn't accelerating or deccelarating, just moving slowly about 10mph with the throttle pressed down about 1/3 of the way. Then suddenly, without pushing the throttle anymore, I got a burst of acceleration.
Anyone know what would cause this? Lucky that the car infront had moved off a fair bit otherwise it would have been nasty. I have noticed it before in 1st but just thought that was due to it being an small engined car but what happened tonight definitely wasn't right.
So yeah, any ideas would be grand

a bust of acceleration and a 1.0 12v 
only joking, possibly a stuck throttle cable? or dodgy one

haha you believe it - wasn't exactly major but you'd know what I mean if you were in the car.
Nothing to do with the sensors etc that everyone seems to go on about or the air filter? It was serviced about 2200 miles ago with new oil filter, air filter, plugs, fuel filter and battery.

i would have thought it was the throttle cable sticking aswell, that or the cable needs adjusting possibly?

When you say adjusting, what do you mean? Tightening?

If it was the throttle cable sticking, you would have to put the throttle down for it to stick.
I doubt it will be that.

Any ideas what it could be? It's going to be one of those things that won't happen if I take a mechanic out in the car
Oh, it has happened in the same place too before (but in 1st gear like I mentioned) which is after sitting in slow moving or standing traffic for a while. Could it be anything to do with heat build up?
