need a little info
im after putting a 1.8 ecotec engine into my corsa sport (only cos i can play my hands on the engine)
now whilst im takin the engine out i was thinkin about putting a power steering coloum in?
is that jus wishfull thinking or quite possible?

it's quite possible just get the full setup from a corsa with hydraulic pas bottle pump piipes and cooler. Then fit it but us ethe 1.8 pump!

well i have the choice of 2 i think there is a astra 1.8 sport which is x18xe or a vectra x18xev i think

i think the astra is around 96 to 98
dont know vectra

you realise they are big block ewngines so same as 2.0ltr mounts and shafts etc!

hmmmm - wud u havter change the 1.2 pump to a 1.6 pump if you changed ur engine? nothing else if u alredi have it...

i realise that they are big blocks but less on insurance is good and cheaper engines
so everyone is a winner

Use a Z18XE from a Vectra B and you can use the existing gearbox, engine mounts and PAS setup.

the z18xe is a small block engine, i thinks
so it just bolts in, using corsa engine mounts - have that to bare in mind in the furture 
there are a few varients
x18xe1 small block
x18xe big block
z18xe small block
someone correct me if im wrong

yes, z18xe are FLB. not too difficult to convert the pedal over to work in the corsa B.
or get the x18xe1 which isnt FLB and is almost identical to the z18xe.

so if i were to find a x18xe1 engine (from what car?) i could use all my existing mounts driveshafts and gearbox or is that just the z18xe
jus to confuse the situation more i can put pas on with both of those engines?

the X18XE1 is from mk4 astras and vectra Bs.
and yes, mounts shafts and stuff all work.

how much would you charge for a the whole conversion including you sourcing the engine whould it be roughly the same as a 2.0ltr conversion
