im thinking about getting a 1.6 16v motor and tuning it, but dont know whether to change the engine in my car or sell up and get another newer 1.6 sport (want to go down different styling route also)
so basically I need to know how much work will be involve in changing my c14se to a x16xe
getting the motor in isnt a problem, neither is sorting out the exhaust system.
what im concerned about is the wiring of the x16xe (going to be running standard (remapped) management) can I just get an x16 engine loom and plug this into the standard car loom and then connect the ecu up to standard connector for the c14se ecu?
or will I need to do extra wiring inside the car for the ecu? also what about the diagnostics port on the fuse panel?

you'd need to rewire the connector between engine loom and car loom. simple case of chop plug off both engine looms, and then wire pretty much color for colour, so you still keep the original 8v engine loom plug, but connected to the 16v loom (if that makes sense)

no. the 16v engine loom incorporates the ecu connector for the 16v ecu

i see so the engine looms comes through the bulkhead and into the car behind the fusebox and then down to the ecu does it incorporate the fusebox or is this part of the interior loom?
