"Unlimited usage"

I've been on a 'heavy users' list for the past 12 months, uploading things takes the pee.....

I was wondering why tiscali put me on their list, and if its unlimited it shouldn't be affected?

About 18 months ago, the computer was downloading & uploading all the time, but since then I probably only download about 4gb a month topps, and upload around 1gb max.

As soon as I was on their heavy users list msn sends and recieves items SO slow its unreal.

Will do a broadband speed test when I get home, if it isn't up to what it should be what can i do?

There is no such thing when it comes to unlimited usage, There will always be a fair use policy with every internet provider that i have seen of.

I have tiscali i used to download 100s of things and have always been ok.

One month I had downloaded around 50gb, and uploaded around 30gb. Then I got a letter, so i probably downloaded abouot 5gb the following month, and uploaded nothing. I can't see why after the letter and I agreed to their system WHY im still on their stupid heavy users group.
I've phoned them and said they'll look into it. That was over a week ago now, moving house in the next few weeks so might just completely forget them. Who's good these days? Been with Tiscali since they had broadband and BT before that.

Just phoned them, and spoke to an Indian chap, oh dear, he asked If I would like to go on the "8mb" service, and I said well if it isn't performing on 2mb the 8 won't either will it? He actually laughed

They've just lost a customer, it'll be cancelled in the next few weeks when we move house

Pipex here we come I guess?

Tiscali is the worst company i've ever dealt with. I'm now with Sky on an 8Meg connection. I actually get 8 Meg.

Virgin Media is prob your best bet, AFAIK they have no fair usage policy. I have downloaded 200gb in a month from my newsgroups before and they have never said a word. I was also once told that whatever you upload it is multiplied by 8 and added to your usage with some ISP's. For example uploading 1gb is the same as downloading 8gb. But tbh I don't believe that.
