Neither will give any gains tbh, but the cone filter could suck up warm air causing flat splots! Cone filter will just sound different aswell.

I have switched between the two a few times now and i much prefer a drilled airbox for the reliablity and sound!

Yep, although i'm using a shitty panel filter from halfords! I dont see the point in putting a k&n panel in mine as i wont see any gains what so ever. Might sound slightly different again but for the money its just not worth it!

I like to see a cone air filter in the engine bay, think they look nicer than an airbox. But this lead to poor performance in hot weather.

Answer? Cone air filter in a clear plastic airbox with ducting to colder air...

Search for "Forza Induction" on eBay. You drill small holes in the bottom of the airbox. Make sure you don't drill the top bit though letting all that hot air in!

true, i had a huge s-pec cone filter on my gsi and i much prefer the standard air box with a courtenay filter and a few holes here and there
