I have a drilled airbox, and thought id experiment a bit so i bought a induction kit from halfords only one of the ripspeed ones with the heatshiled round it, i'm going to mount this in the airbox so its enclosed from all hot air, anyone tried this before and does it work ?

will 'work' but don expect any differences in power. might sound good though!

Why not get rid of the airbox completely?

Why do you think hot air is such a problem with performance on your car?

my car is a 1.2 16v ive heard many storys of flat spots because of hot air etc this why i would want to mount it in the hairbox to shield it even more.

my girlfriends 1.2 16v ran like shite when i fitted a pipercross kit on it. didnt make any difference apart from a better sound. heared lots of people having problems after fitting induction kits to the 1.2 16v

i gave up trying to cure my flatspots, hesitating and general crap driving experience.

i have had

-Cone filter, no cold air feed
-Cone filter with cold air feed
-standard airbox + paper filter
-standard airbox + panel filter
-Drilled airbox + paper filter
-Drilled airbox + panel filter

drilled airbox arrangement had an extra air feed to underside too

done about 700=1000mile with each setup and found out that i noticed bugger all

if anything i had less flatspots with panel filter and standard airbox

Ok cheers for that mate ill give it ago and see what happens seen as i have bought it now, it all ready has a full heat shield round it, but its made by ripspeed

No it's not. The packaging says ripspeed, but they're all made overseas in deepest darkest Asia.
Some of the stuff is good value...

Didnt work , i have also butchered my airbox a bit to much and now i have no low end torque, so its back to standard airbox
