My mate has just bought a Mini, please dont laugh or take the piss.
Basically he is looking for alternatives to lighting up the number plateto a standard to get it past its MOT. The mini downlight that is standard doesn't look too good so he wants something different.
I have seen some screw lights that hold the plate on and have a dome oin the top that reflects the light back onto the number plate so it isn't obvious where the light comes from, but I cant find a site that does them.
So any alternatives would be considered, links would be much appreciated.
Remember the question comes from a fellow Corsa owner on behlaf of a mini owner so please help.
Cheers,
Sean.

Demon-tweeks sell the bolts with built in LED's that you can use to light up a number plate with.

Do the bolts actually light the number plate up then or just glow??
From reading up on the net regarding MOT the light that lights your number plate up can be any colour what so ever, so neon would be alright.
Yeah min's are good cars, not amazingly comfortable but my mates is gonna look pretty mean.
Putting a working Evo vent on the bonnet surprisingly on wednesday, dunno how it will look but it wll be different at least.

it has to be white and not shine out from the car
led screws WILL fail
all i did for mine was cable tiw a ford sieera light on to the bumper and wire it up - took 5 minutes
i currently dont have a plate light - only been done once tho

According to a website my mate found the numberplate lighting can be of any colour as long as it doesn't shine out from the car and illuminates the plate so it can be read in the dark from 20.5m.
