ive got 15" phantom alloys, i was planning to drop my car 60mm but today i found out that the offset of these wheels is et38. i didnt realise this when i bought them as halfords didnt tell me any different. so how will this effect my lowering?

Got the exact same problem mate, but on 17" rims. I have lowered the car 40mm. I get scrubbing here & ther but nowt 2 bad, unless I have passengers in the back. If you cant afford to or dont wanna chang the wheels.
1 - take off the plastic arches & remove the top 2 bolts.
2 - angle grind some of the inner arch off
3 - re-attach the plastic arch using the remaining bolts & silicone, where you took of the 2 bolts.
Go for a drop of about 45mm & you should be ok mate
