download the sound drivers for your motherboard if its built in

you need the drivers, what type of motherboard do you have?

make and model number and ill look for the drivers for you, or a google search will usually reveal your answer.

Im really not sure, bought the computer as it was and I have no discs.. was real audio 97 or something iirc...

anyway of telling what mobo it is without stripping the pc

So you managed to get it all sorted then? You get a mate to install windows for you or download a copy?
