if i was you and im not being biased in anyway but i would get a ps3 mainly because its time is yet to come and you may regret it if you get an xbox
They won't stop making games for the 360 till the new Xbox is out though so thats not really the best arguement.

Get Both problem solved
I have both and at the moment i am enjoying the PS3 more at the moment - seeing as my xbox has been away for repair for 2 weeks.
The noise coming from the Xbox is awful when playing games\dvd's compared to the PS3 which is nearly silent compared to the xbox. Also doesn't have that huge ugly brick of a power supply to hide somewhere.
Best time to buy the PS3 will be around the middle of 2008, with GT5, MGS coming out around the same time. But at the moment the Xbox has games on it's side.

Indeed, March next year is (currently!) the time when several big titles come out (MGS, GTA, GT5 etc etc)

All my friends have had issues with their 360's, did put me off buying one. It's good that the warranty has been extended but I'd be pissed off with having to send it away knowing that the chances of it breaking again are fairly high
Don't know what setups other people have but my PS3 is also my doovde player, Didn't want a second device in there cluttering the place up. Games consoles I can live without but the DVD player I use on a daily basis & wouldn't want to be left without it!
There are loads more games for the 360, but how many will you actually need or want? Other than a decent driving game (apart from f1 which is v.good) there's plenty of choice for the PS3 now
Sport games are sport games, will be practically the same on each platform. NHL has kept be busy for hours, but that would be the same on any console. It's only really games like gears of war & resistance fall of man that come into the "who has better games" argument. Plenty of decent games upcoming in the next year
Bluray is ace, I got a free Casino Royal bluray when I got my PS3 & it's really good watching films in HD. Not essential, but a nice extra to have
Looks good

£50 isn't much more to spend, get a ps3

If I was in the market for a new console I think i'd get a PS3, only thing I don't like is the controllers. Have never like the PS controllers.

Ive got one of the earlier 360's, its very good and hasnt broken yet. Im thinking of getting a PS3 next Christmas (08) because there will be better games for it and everything will be cheaper. Xbox Live does cost £40 normally, but if you are willing to forfeit your online status every year u can buy it £12 or even less of ebay for 13 months like i did

I bet I still get mine swapped if it does
Goods have to be fit for purpose, for up to 6 years. If it wasn't defective to start with, why would it have broke?
Done it on quite a few things before
