They need the split welding and a plate welding on the inside to stop it happening again.

I had the outside welded when mine was resprayed, a week later they were starting to split again

ive welded mine 3 times and there off again. was gonna start a post, gonna move into yours instead!
how much have people paid to get this plate welded inside?

I welded the ones on my old sri but they soon crack again

I had a 3mm Steel plate welded to the back of mine, then had the crack welded and filleted; that was done when I first bought the car in 2001; They haven't cracked to this day and I've covered 70'000miles

my old daily corsa was a 97, phase one if you like but had the post 97 pillar plates in so i just welded the front. about 2 years it took for the tiniest little small crack to appear again..

i welded jafsters off here years ago andhes had an xe and let in and stiif suspension and been fine

well if you lads have just like welded the outside, how come mines broke again. the 1st time we did mine we where gental, the second time it cracked in exatally the same place so drilled both ends of the crack and welded, the third time it cracked above the weld so we went a bit crazy, drilled, bashed it in a tad and rewelded with a lot of weld. and now its cracking again!! pissin thing.

so how are you lot doing it?? or is it luck if it cracks or not?

they all said they welded a plate behind the crack

how tho? like exatally, or maybe a pictured walk-threw or something! im not understanding how to get a plate in there, am i being thick?
