I have one of these - http://www.caraudiodesign.co.uk/product_info.php/pName/alpine-cda9852rrrb-cdmp3wma-receiver
Would it be possible to plug an ipod nano to be compatable with it?
Maybe something like this - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ALPINE-KCE-422i-KCE422i-FULL-SPEED-IPOD-CONNECTOR-LEAD_W0QQitemZ370009461940QQihZ024QQcategoryZ14932QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

we have just had the same problem with the gf alpine headunit. most alpine units from 2004 onwards come with ai-net connection. for ur haedunit u need to buy the adaptor box. u plug the ipod into this then plug that box into the headunit. u can then control the ipod from the head unit. i have read many reviews and everyone one says they are very slow and very expensive, even 2nd hard. for this reason the gf brought a new 2007 alpine headunit and uses the 422i cable. this then controls the ipod from the headunit at full speed. another way round it is that you could get this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ALPINE-AI-NET-AUX-CD-CHANGER-LEAD-CABLE-NOISE-FILTER_W0QQitemZ370009499783QQihZ024QQcategoryZ58350QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem and plug the ipod into the headunit that way using the headphone jack but u cannot control the ipod from the headunit this way but is alot cheaper.
Hope that makes sense, any questions please let us know.

Cheers guys, I feared it would require one of those box things - there about £70, its not going to be worth the expence. Think i'll just ebay the CD player

i got one of the alpine ipod things, its slower than a cd when changing tracks if you want to do it quickly but you can also use the scroll wheel to search for tracks etc so its just as quick
