Got back from holiday this week and put my ipod nano through the wash
Was wondering what mp3 player to get next? was considering the latest 80gb ipod video, but wonder if anyone had any other suggestions? Zen? Zune?

got a 60gb video ipod here, does everything most of the others can do, apart from playing loads of different formats.
Personally, i dont think the sound quality is up to scratch, it produces a lot of noise. However, i've listened to a zen and the sound quality is about the same if not worse in the bottom end (but obviously this could be down to the media being played etc).
however, i think itunes is a load of shit - it completly takes over your system, installs what it likes and generally buggers up your music. I use winamp, not only for playing music on my pc but to also upload to the ipod. But it'll convert file formats on the fly, unlike itunes which only supports mp3s/AAC/WAV/AIFF/Apples-shite-lossless-codec, so i can upload my FLAC and other lossless musis to my ipod (obviously converts to mp3 @ 320kbits etc). And it works well and doesn't crash, unlike itunes when i try and import my 105GBs worth of music
don't think you can go wrong with an ipod, just make sure you replace the standard headphones

i was going to comment on itunes, but i thought alot of people liked it
I used a small program called VPod for transfering files to the Ipod.
Thats all it does is transfer files, not a music player, no adverts, not bloatware.

the only reason itunes is on my system is to do ipod updates - even then i haven't done one for ages, because i run custom firmware and it'd reformat the bastard for me once i plug it in
Anyone got any good 3rd part programs to do pictures/photos?
I had one, but it just dumped everything in a single album on the ipod, which is a bit pap. And itunes "sync's" the whole lot to the ipod whether you want it to or not - mate found that out when i bought the ipod off him, had loads of pics of his missus naked
