what would be the best tyre size to use? want a little bit of a stretch but nothing rediculous

I've got 195s on a 6 and they're flush with the rim.
on a 5.5 to have them flush, you'd need 175s, so for a bit of stretch, you need a 155, or a 145 
If you're talking about 15" rims, you'd struggle to get a 145 or 155 with a 45 or 50 profile, or even a 55.
