If the airbag light is on because of a fault, then the system is effectively shut down. i.e his airbags won't fire in the event of a crash. the most commom problem with pretentioner circuit fault's, is the wiring under the seat. its worth having a look although you will need consult (nissan diag computer) to erase the fault. If you find the connector is causing the problem it's easiest just to hardwire it.
