my engines makes a loud tapin noise so obv thinking the tappets need to be re done jus bought calibra haynes manual is it easy to do it your self?

They don't have tappets, they have hydraulic lifters.
They will need to be replaced.

16 lifters in total, 1 per valve.
They are quite expensive, around £100 per set I think.
Try Autovaux or V-Sport for prices.

ok cheers mate, so theres no way of fixing them without replacing them so they go quietier? engine flush or oil n filter change?

nope just need to change them. oil change etc might help a tiny bit but once they are worn theres nothing you can do

yes they can be reconditioned, have a look on migweb and search for a post on there about it.
