You need to install all of the drivers too. Sounds like you haven't got any network drivers.

really? no I havent, where do i get them from?
ive never had to do that before 
just plug the ethernet cable in an clicked on IE

But if you did a fresh install you will have wiped all your drivers off of the computer and they will all need re-installing.
