well what i wanna know is.. wot do i do with the PAS pump on the redtop if im not using it, cos there will be no-where for the altinator belt to run if i take it off ????

well you need to change the steering rack on ur corsa then if u want pas

The PAS belt and alternator belt are seperate.

Some XE engines have the multi rib belt though and that does both. You need to get the pulleys from an engine which uses 2 V belts and use those. You might need the alternator bracket as well so you can adjust the tension in the belt but I was lucky and got a twin V belt engine

depend's on the pully setup up what you do with the belt...
if it's multi rib, then the alt is fixed so you need an alt adjuster off an early type xe, and a shorter belt, the multi rib stuff work's, but sometimes it doesn't so people chop two of the rib's off the pully's and use a 3 rib belt as apposed to a 5rib belt..
if it's multi v setup, just leave it as it is without pas pump and belt on it

i dont want power steering, all i wanna do is put a bloody redtop in my car lol. this is all so sonfusing, cant i just leave the pas pum on and disconnecting, or will it sieze up in time and f**k something?

Just take the pas pump off and get a smaller alt belt that fits Thats what i did Saves changing pullys 2

i took pas off mine. then measure the legth around the two remaining pullies and order a belt to size. from parts company worked fine for me. if i still got it will get the part number.
