When I start my car it fires up and then cuts out straight away. If I hold the revs on then the engine light comes on the dash after a few seconds and then the car will idle but not steadily. Any ideas what it could be? Its a corsa sport 1.6, thanks in advance, Rob.

I had this problem. Took it to the garage and they told me its something to do with the air flow sensor. Just take it apart and clean it.
It could be getting too much air into the system

ICV/Air Leak,
Check rubber vacuum pipes for small leaks and holes they can make the car run rough as a dog and cut out as I found out to my misfortune in the GSi years ago!
