if you have no idea about spraying cars then you shouldnt do it yourself, it could easily look a mess, even easy colours to spray lke black are very hard if you dont know what you are doing, will take u a v. long time too if you duno wot your doing, to prime it etc etc etc

Black is probably one of the hardest colours to get to look good.

a few months ago i was in the same boat as you never painted anything bigger than alloys with a gun the only way to learn is have a go it didnt come out to well but i think if i gave it anuther go i would be tons more clued up i used 2pk black paint as i found out a realy hard colour to paint as it shows every mark and imperfection aswell as being realy hard to get a gloss look my advise to you would be take your time with the prep work because if you rush this it will show strip every thing off the car u can because i masked everything up and just didnt get the effect i wanted good luck DAVE

i know what you mean every one told me black was the easiest but i think white is the easiest to get a good finish on mine went matt black first go but second go went on alot thicker and looked ok i would never even try mettalic paint or celulous even though they look alot beter the laquer is very hard to paint on afterwards

hello there i used 2pk high gloss black you can get it from halfords or car paint shops and its the cheapest paint normaly if u get a pannel 2 practice on use a bonnet cos i thort it was the hardest bit to paint and when practicing set the gun and compressor up to how you want it

just finished painting my mates. its first car we have ever done ad it turned out pretty good. just a couple of bits were the paint cracked and were not sure why. preping is the hardest part actual painting takes a few hours.

and the finished product. every single bit of the cars been done by me and my mate. dont think its too bad for a first go. spraying mine tomorrow night hopefully.
