right lads,
ive got a pioneer deh 30mp i think, and i have bad interference when the engine is running. all four speakers crackle quite loud (loud enough to be annoying)
it only happens when the rca leads are plugged into the headunit (nothing on the other end) and no sub or amp in the car. the noise does not increase or decrease in volume, it dissapears when the volume is on 00 but its ther on 01.
anyone know how to stop this (it aint the headunit, its the second one)
any help appreciated, thanks

I assume you mean the RCA leads?
Just un-plug them until you get an amp (that is assuming that you intend to get one)

i have got an amp! im just putting emphasis (sp) on the fact that it does it even without the amp connected, so ppl dont start tellin me that the amp is buggered. the amp is in my house. the amp is irrelivant (sp) cuz its interfering without it...the amp doesnt stop it interfering.

Have you run all the cables under the sills for the amp - if so are the RCA leads on the opposite side to the power and remote?

it does it without the power cable in! and i had it running fine for a year with them under the same sill so it wouldnt be this. Ive had the rca above the seats, out the door, everywhere and it doesnt make a difference!!

The unit is fine without RCA leads?
Have you tried different leads?
Have you tried with RCA leads plugged in to the amp with the amp earthed?
You can earth the RCA leads to although I'm not sure what is required here, perhaps an RCA lead with built-in earth or maybe even grounding one side of the audio, not sure, its been a while.

What caused it start? did you change some part of the sound system?

Have you checked all connections from the car to the HU - Maybe some got damaged when your old one got nicked

it all looks fine, they unplugged it neatly and took what they needed. If it was the car wiring then surely it would happen without the rca lead plugged in, but it doesnt

sounds like its the connections on your headunit. see if you can try that lead out on your mate's headunnit and see if you get the problem, or even borrow your mate's, put it in your car and see if the noise is still there! I reckon it must be the your new headunit.

from all the things above, surely it must be the connections on your headunit that your plugging your RCA's into?

to me it seems that it must be a dodgy connection somewhere between the car itself and the HU

if it was that then surely the rca leads shoudnt make a difference and it should do it all the time?

have you tried using double or triple screened rca leads also you could put a earth lead from the alternator to body shell
