Having a nightmare trying to unlock on 2.0.1 firmware 
ZiPhone doesn't work on this firmware, so it's a long winded process according to this: http://www.quickpwn.com/2008/09/jailbreak-iphone-21.html
Anyone else done it?
I'm only doing this to get a bit more money when selling aswell

I'm on 2.1 using Pwnage tool, but I have a mac which makes it easier I think?

just use winpwn
very easy and u can make custom firmware
takes 20mins

My brother has a Mac. Was it a simple program that does everything, like ZiPhone?

Yeah mate, download pwnage. It makes a restore file for you, tells you where to find the latest firmware and boot loaders. Its really easy, once you have unlocked it with pwnage you just restore it through Itunes. So simple its ridiculous.
Even easier than Ziphone which I used first time round.

I tried using winpwn, easy to use, but when it gets to the point of entering DUR mode (Or something like that) the program crashes, so I give up. I'll just sell it not unlocked.

Don't upgrade to 2.0.1 or 2.0.2. It's slow and poopey, haven't tried 2.2.0 yet as WinPwn isn't updated for it yet.
