you wont get good bhp cheap in a 1.4 atall.
if you want power get a 1.6 or 2 litre.
if you spend about a £800-1000 that will get you a decent exhaust, inlet, 4-2-1 and would probably have around 100bhp maybe a tad more, you have to spend big money on cams and remap to see anything near 120bhp but you are looking at over £1500. At the end of the day you will have no much more power than a 1.6. if i was you i would buy a 1.6 engine (£2/300) then spend what you have doing that up.
