has anyone done this to lower compression? i just want to take a skim off them to lower compression rather than using a decompression plate.

u need pcoketed pistons john. they different mate.
what u mean cossie? if i run thicker gasket then i cant run any decent boost.
want to maching the crown down slightly

you can get a bit thicker than standard size gasket should be no problem but better if you can lower compression from head more easy !

any decent machine shop can do it easy. Don't take too much off or the crown thickness will be to thin

with out actully checking for my self about 1.5mm depends what boost you'll be running and mapping etc. Like on the 2litre 8v's ya just machine the dish abit deeper to lower the compression.

i could but that would hold the project even further
rather just uprate the conrod bolts and machine the pistons if i can get away with it.

also there's the fact how much boost do you want to run? Decent intercooler and decent mapping could see a 1bar on standard pistons seen it in a few saxo's

will have decent intercooler. be using standard mapping to start with, with an adjustable fpr and 2.0 injectors.
will get gotech in the future

go for it mate, some times you just gotta budget it, so many people can tell u ur wrong but at the end of the day if it works that 500 buff in ur pocket
