Should have pulled out the registry in safe mode beforehand

My xp code wasnt working, so I registered over the phone and the code the gived me worked fine.

I used my genuine XP Pro disc on my laptop, but used the serial key found on the sticker on the base of the laptop. Worked a treat.

I also just rang up MS when my sticker key was not working due to a bios change. They just gave me another based on the existing key. Only useful if you have a sticker or have pulled from the registry as above .
