The waterpump is leaking from my 55 plate Corsa, So I dropped it off today at 8am before college, and then at 12pm they rung me up saying it was the waterpump & that it needs changing.
So, i'm thinking is it common for a waterpump to need changing on a 3 year old car?! and why couldn't they just replace a gasket in the pump so they didn't have to change the hole thing?
Thanks.

Probably changed it just for caution, as it might be damaged. Its like the ICV on x16xe engines, such a pig to get to theres no point in cleaning it if you just gotta take the whole thing apart again to fix it. Or they are just raping you from behind
