On my girlfriends ka, it has just blown a fitting out of the power steering pump, what would cause this? before it happened the steering whined on full lock.
Also if it makes any difference it has just has another engine fitted and another pump with new power steering fluid obviously.

I'd be looking at the most simple thing first - that it wasn't tightened up properly in the 1st place.
Tried re-connecting it and see if it does it again?

Its not a screw in fitting, its pressed in I think.

ah right I know what you mean.
If it's a dealer part take it to them, tell them it's failed and see what they do about it.
Or fit another and see if it happens again.
