Go to your local DVLA office with the engine number and they'll change the log book and tax class.
Then wait 3wks for your new v5.

Fill out the V5 with new engine cc and new engine number and take it to your local dvla office along with your tax disc and they will issue you with a new tax disc (you will have to pay the excess) as you are now in a higher tax group, then they will send the V5 away and you will recive a new one in a few weeks
If you dont have a local dvla office then just send the V5 to the dvla
You may also be asked to provide an engineers report for the new engine.

Get an MOT garage to check it over and confirm it's safe to drive.
They just sign a bit of paper.
Insurance:
If Flux ask who put the engine in, i jsut wrote cossvaux on mine and they didnt question it. Saves the hastle i've no idea who put mine in.

Told Adrian Flux I fitted mine myself, no questions were asked. That was about 4 years ago though

I have a degree in Engineering, does that mean I can do my own report?

If the car is all official as a 2.0 now on the logbook though, Do you need to notify the insurance of an engine change when re-insuring the car?
Surely when you insure the car, it'd come up as a 2.0 rather than a 1.2 when they tap the plate in?

Yes you have to notify them of an engine change.

Yea you need to notify them as it can take a while for it to go to there systems so may still come up as a 1.2

The reg will still come up as a 1.2 on the insurance database.
Was the same for my 2.0 Corsa. If i do a vehicle enquirie on the dvla website it says 1998cc
If i get an insurance quote it still says 1.6 GSi.
