Below is a copied email from a bodyshop in Essex. Is this reasonable?

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Ryan,

Yes i follow the scene pretty closely tbh and was always a fan of his car! Im on Eu Mania and Street Legal which he posts on.

Deffo one of my fave corsas!

Ok prices as follows:

Fit the bonnet, bumper and bootlid - Free of charge if done with the colour change respray.
Flush roof rails - £1200 plus vat (again if done with the respray) - this is lead filled which guarantees it not sinking and cracking. If you want them just welded and filled (at the possibility of sinking) we would charge £750 plus vat
Smooth standard rear bumper - £250 plus vat
Fit skirts - free if done with respray
Weld MK1 Astra arches or similar - £2500 plus vat ( this includes modifying the skirts and bumpers to meet the arches)
Engine bay paint - £750 plus vat (this includes removing most of the engine to allow painting the bay)

We can build the arches and bumpers so that they are removable yes.

Hope this helps.

That's dear. I'd guess it'd be a spot on job tho, or I'd hope so at least

I got bonnet badboy'd, Combat 2 Wide kit fitted with wide arches smoothed in and full respray for the grand total of £500.

Yeah thats what I thought, bodyshop is called xquisite www.xquisiteautomotive.co.uk.

Maybe their reputation is increasing the cost?

Thanks for the input. May try and haggle, but even if they drop the price still looking at around £4000. Plus still need to buy some coilovers and wheels!

I can't see how welded up roof rails can sink? Assuming it's a case of a strip of metal over the gap.

Hi

Thanks for the offer drunkenfool, appreciate it, but going to stick with my car.

Tom, cheers for the detailed email. The price quoted for your work is much more appealing but does the quote include or exclude VAT @15%.

Thanks

Thanks

K's work has come on a hell of a way since the nova

also hes not an engine builder and never claims to be

generally if he says somethings a good runner its a good runner

i dont know about his past as ive only known him 2years

u cannot say that his creations are not something very different and look amazing
