Got a IBM R31 Laptop with Win 2000 Pro installed been working fine and rescently just won't shut down or restart, freezes and crashes... Any Ideas?? IBM are twats won't help....

Aah I ain't formatting and re-installing wondered if there was anything else I could do, I've done alll the power management shite etc etc.... If it's coruppt I haven't got much choice but there is shite loads s/w on it and wanna do it min fuss...!!!

Run a WindowsUpdate on it cos there always issues with ACPI on some laptops...
Also, you installed anything recently that made it do it? Could be a TSR running that's not 100% compatible....
