antscorsa, sorry for not replying earlier, but i havent been able to get on here for a couple of days. i have a K&N 57i induction kit, it looks and sounds brilliant, much better than the old pannelfilter/airbox.
here is a pic of it: http://uk.photos.yahoo.com/bc/pooycow/vwp?.dir=/My+Photos&.src=ph&.dnm=EngineJPEG.jpg&.view=t&.done=http%3a//uk.photos.yahoo.com/bc/pooycow/lst%3f%26.dir=/My%2bPhotos%26.src=ph%26.view=t

oh, and corsa 120 is right about the corsa airfilter, as it is at one side of the engine bay. if you have a meshed up front end then youe engine bay will have more cool air flowing into it (as the standard grilles hardley have any holes in them, lol)

So if the only prob with an induction kit is it sucks in hot air..what about if you used a heat shield? Which would be best then?

Also GLSi guy, where is the other half of ur engine!?!? lol i didnt realise 1.0 12v had that small an engine. U cud prob get an extra passenger or 2 in there! my 1.2 8v fills the lot!
Also, pull ur induction kit forward mate, tuck it rite under the wing and run the cold air feed there. keep it as far away from the engine as poss!

A one litr 12v has only got 3 cylinders!
Thats why they are shit slow.
You could tell people you had half a V6 engine, sounds better than 1ltr!!

Mav, its certainly not true of all Corsa engines. The smaller engines do not take kindly to induction kits. Simple as that.

Yeah but only if you drive a Saxo. PiperX Vipers arent what they are cracked up to be. Just visually impressive and wallet damaging.

Do what i did, modify your air box and put you induction kit inside.
I'll take pics and show you what i mean, this way you dont suck in hot air and you still get a nice induction noise.

A couple of the Pipercross induction kits come with heatshields (R5, Audi TT) so you could just buy that part and have a ready-made curved heatshield.
No idea on pricing and the fitment will be down to you, but they're available and look better than a std airbox

Drill and derestrict the airbox. Thats what I have done to my 1.0 12v and had no problems and sounds nice when you put ya foot down.
