theres oil comming out of the gasket of the head..
is it a big job to change a gasket? is it just a matter of taking the head off .. new gasket... gasket seal and blot all back together?
i've a half notion that the oil and water is mixing a bit or else there is a hole in the water bottle or something..

You don't put gasket sealent on a head gasket
And yes, it's a big job, if you're asking then you will not be able to do it. As the cambelt needs to come off, and the head bolts will have to be torqued up and tightend in a certain way.

think i should of mentioned that it was a 97 diesel so i dont think any of those parts need to come off...
and you'd actually be surprised what i could do... dropped the diff out and changed the speedo drive gear on the diff and put it all back on my own.. and thats not really an easy job..
could get the lend of a torque wrench and tighten them to the proper tighness, not really worried about that..

Just because it's a diesel doesn't mean you don't have take the cam belt off, re-time it and tighten all the head bolts in certain way

Ohhhh!! In that case, thats a very easy job. You'll be able to do that with ease
Just make sure you tighten all the bolts staring in the middle making a circle working outwards
