Does the stereo have a fuse in the fusebox by any chance? tried numerous stereos in my corsa but so far no luck, doesnt even turn on. Just wondering if it runs throush a fuse such as sidelights etc, or would it have its own one?

Have you ever changed the ignition barrel or switch? The pre-face lift loom is different and needs an extra pole, I found this out after I replaced the steering column and my stereo stopped working.. Had to bridge two pins on the ingnition switch plug

Depending what radio you have you could just perm wire the radio. Much easyer imo and ofc ideal for when your working on the car (or chavving it up around collage lol)

That will be the problem
Either get the switch from the same model (as long as you did manage to match all the wires in the plug) or bridge the wire that goes to the stereo (find it with a multi-meter)..
I believe the pre97 allowed the stereo to come on in the first position but the later ones the pin was dropped and the stereo was fed from the main live.
