Probably gonna enter into the top ten most boring posts ever, but for some reason I timed my boot this morning.

AMD Athlon 2Ghz | 1.25Gb RAM + ReadyBoost | Windows 7 RC | Boot time = 1:20

Not the fastest thing in the world, actually have 2Gb RAM but one stick decided to give up. Basically waiting a few more months until Windows 7 is out properly then it's whole new computer time

Go!

First machine i could lay my hands on at work:

Intel P4 3Ghz | 504mb ram | XP Pro = 17.9 seconds

Not the quickest machine in the office either, just a customer machine i had on my desk

Ever tried TinyXP or TinyVista? they boot in about 30 seconds (Only tried xp one) on my laptop, AMD turion x64 dual core, 2 gigs ram they are really good if your comp is a bit older or you just want something faster. I put 7RC on because all the drivers are automatically installed an my laptops a pain in the arse for them (couldnt find xp drivers for the fingerprint scanner or touch screen). Never timed 7 booting but seems fast always put it on hibernate though.

Yeah have found Windows 7 driver support is fantastic! I have Vista on another partition, and XP on another drive...

Might fire them all up to compare
